DESCRIPTION
Richard A and Phyllis Brown moved to Lexington in 1963. Richard, along with the Jaycees, started the Lexington Youth Wrestling Program. The Brown’s ran the John Higgins Invitational Wrestling Meet, one of the largest meets in the state where Phyllis scored the matches by hand.Their five children, along with Phyllis, started the Richard A Brown Wrestling Scholarship upon his death. Phyllis (Brown) Hendrix passed away in the spring of 2018. It was Phyllis’s wish to permanently continue this scholarship and the family has also established the Richard and Phyllis (Brown) Hendrix Wrestling Scholarship in their honor.

QUALIFICATION
Senior must be a wrestler for Lexington Public Schools
The student must apply and be accepted at their college choice.

AWARD AMOUNT
The amount of each scholarship is $500, which will be paid upon successful completion of 1st semester classes and proof of registration for the 2nd semester with verified grades of 2.5 GPA.
You must be present at Senior Honor night to accept award from the family.
