The Neal Kohl family has established a scholarship in loving memory of Neal Kohl, who passed away July 17th, 2011. As a young boy growing up in Hastings, NE, Neal learned the automotive trade by working in his father’s automotive body shop. His dream was to own his own automotive business. He moved to Lexington in 1972 and became the owner of Mr. Automotive. He ran a very successful business from 1972 until he retired in 2000.

Neal was always a strong advocate of technical schools. He felt there was a strong need to give opportunities to students who wished to pursue their talents in their selected trade.

This $500 scholarship will be awarded after successful completion of the first term in any technical school in which the student is enrolled.

Consideration for the scholarship will be given to any student who will be graduating from Lexington High School. The applicant must show qualities of good character and leadership skills and be involved in the community. The applicant shall also be pursuing a degree from a technical school.
