LEXINGTON OPTIMIST CLUB SERVICE TO YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP – 2 YEAR PROGRAM
The Lexington Optimist Club will award a $1,000 scholarship to a Lexington High School senior who enrolls in any two-year community college, technical school, or trade school. The scholarship will be paid after successful completion of the first term at any community college, technical school or trade school in which the recipient is enrolled, in the event the student has met the following criteria:

Must have completed a semester under ‘full-time’ student status (12 credit hours or more) while having a grade point average of at least 2.0 or better at any college.

The scholarship will be based upon both academic achievement and service to youth shown within the school and the community. Preference shall be given to any student who (1) has a relative active in the Lexington Optimist Club and (2) demonstrates service to youth through community involvement.

QUALIFICATIONS
Preference for the scholarship will be given to any Lexington High School graduating senior who demonstrates service to youth through community involvement, academic achievement, is pursuing a post-secondary education at a two-year college, AND has a relative active in the Lexington Optimist Club.

AWARD DISBURSEMENT
Funds will be sent to the Office of Financial Aid and the student’s school of choice. Additional requirements may be needed for payment.
