LEXINGTON OPTIMIST CLUB SERVICE TO YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP
The Lexington Optimist Club will award a $1,000 scholarship to a Lexington High School senior who enrolls in any four-year state college or University. The scholarship will be paid after successful completion of the first semester at any four-year college or university in which the recipient is enrolled, in the event the student has met the following criteria:
Must have completed a semester under ‘fulltime’ student status (12 credit hours or more) while having a grade point average of at least 2.0 or better at any four-year college.
The scholarship will be based upon both academic achievement and service to youth shown within the school and the community. Preference shall be given to any student who (1) demonstrates service to youth through community involvement; (2) has a relative active in the Lexington Optimist Club.
Preference for the scholarship will be given to any Lexington High School graduating senior that demonstrates service to youth through community involvement, academic achievement, is pursuing a post-secondary education at a four-year college AND has a relative active in the Lexington Optimist Club.
