BILL AND MARY ANN HAKONSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

DESCRIPTION
This scholarship is offered in memory of William and Mary Ann Hakonson, beloved parents of Ann and John Hakonson, both public school educators who spent their careers serving students in Nebraska and Wyoming. They were both very generous and caring people who were especially focused on helping those students who faced unusual life obstacles including poverty, learning challenges, and loss of parents.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Students who are intending to pursue a college major in a teaching field, speech pathology, nursing or school counseling.
Applicants will need to demonstrate financial need.
Criteria for selection will include financial need, class rank, GPA, ACT scores and involvement in school activities and or/the community.

AWARD DISBURSEMENT
Award money will be sent to the college upon proof of first semester grades and second semester schedule.
