WARREN & LETA BATIE SCHOLARSHIP
DESCRIPTION
Warren and Leta Batie always believed in the importance of having a good high school, as well as a post-secondary education that prepares one for a future career. All of Warren & Leta’s children and grandchildren have graduated from a college or university. The Batie family has created this scholarship as a means of helping students with the increased costs of attending college.
One scholarship, valued at up to $2,000, will be awarded to a Lexington High School graduating senior who plans to attend any university, state college, or tech school. The scholarship will be paid $500 annually for up to four years after successfully completing the first semester or term in any accredited post-secondary education institution in which the student is enrolled.
QUALIFICATIONS
Consideration for the scholarship will be given to any Lexington High School graduating senior who is a well-rounded student and involved in academics, at least one sport of band, and at least one activity in either school or the community. Applicants must have demonstrated qualities of good character, community service, and leadership.

AWARD DISBURSEMENT
Funds will be sent to the Office of Financial Aid and the student’s school of choice. Additional requirements may be needed for payment.
